9/29/2022
Campbellsville, KY. The new
Taylor Family Medical Center located at 101 Winston Way in Campbellsville announced their grand opening this week with a ribbon cutting ceremony. As part of the Cumberland Family Medical Center, Inc. (CFMC) network of Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC), the new Taylor Family Medical Center brings greater accessibility to patients from Taylor and surrounding counties. “As a FQHC, we provide affordable, accessible health care options for all patients,” states Dr. Eric Loy, CEO of Cumberland Family Medical Center, Inc. “We are excited to expand our health care footprint into Taylor County and have enjoyed working with the county and local businesses to complete renovations on this new location and welcome our new providers to this area.”
Local medical providers providing health care at the new facility are
Brandi Johns, DO and
Megan Durrett, APRN. For Dr. Johns, a native of Taylor County, this is an exciting time. “Opening an office in my hometown is a dream come true. I look forward to serving the citizens of this community for years to come,” states Dr. Johns.
State Representative Sarge Pollock was on hand to participate in the ribbon cutting ceremony. “It’s a great day for Taylor County. Our citizens have access to quality healthcare provided by two of our own who chose to return home and care for their community. We are very fortunate and excited to have Dr. Johns, Nurse Practitioner Megan Durrett, and Taylor Family Medical Center in Campbellsville. They will be an asset to our medical community.”
In addition, Taylor County Schools are also partnering with CFMC for provision of school-based health services on campus. Chief Nursing Officer, Megan McMillin states that with the establishment of school-based health centers in each school this semester, students and parents have the optional advantage of getting health care on-site at school which reduces absenteeism. Having a clinic in the community is a great complement to the school-based services as both add value through keeping both students and families healthy, ready to learn, and ready for the workplace.”
Taylor County School Superintendent Charles Higdon, also in attendance echoed this sentiment: Cumberland Family Medical was “eager to step up and help us, and they have gone above and beyond in their partnership with us. What you all have done, and the quick turnaround . . . is flat out amazing.”
Cumberland Family Medical Center, Inc. is a Federally Qualified Health Center network with 162 clinic locations across south-central and central Kentucky offering primary care, pediatrics, oral health, behavioral/mental health care, OB/GYN, substance use disorder services, and school-based health care to all patients regardless of insurance or income status.
The new facility welcomes all patients and is excited about creating a medical home for those who need a base for their health care needs. CFMC clinics accept all insurances, Medicare, and Medicaid.
